the luccia grace photography experience

Photos are a visual journal of the

moments that make us feel alive

Why do we take photos? Why do we take our phones out in order to snap selfies with our friends during the sunset? Or with a boyfriend, dressed up on our first official date together? Why do we create baby books and flip through old photo albums when a grandparent passes away, trying to gain an image of who they were when they were young? It’s because this life passes us by so quickly. When we experience a moment that fills us with joy or is breathtakingly beautiful, we don’t want want to forget it. We don’t want to forget the way it made us feel alive. Or how a loved one looked in that brief moment in time. We want to hold on to it as tightly as we can and for as long as we are humanly capable, so that when the moment is over, we can still remember. And so… we take a photo.

Whether you’re getting married, about to have a child, are graduating from high school, or are taking photos just because, every moment in your story deserves to be captured. Someday, when your head is covered in grey hairs and your memory is flying out the window, your children and your grandchildren will be able to look back at the images that tell your story. Your legacy. The photos will become a visual journal of the life story God wrote specifically for you. That is a gift worth investing in.

why choose Luccia grace?

My goal is to be so much more than just your photographer. I want to be your friend, your cheerleader, and for weddings, your go-to gal for anything you need. If you need help pinning your veil, wrangling the groomsmen, getting food, or even getting the dance floor started… I got you covered! Other than your spouse, you will likely be around me more than almost anybody else on your wedding day, so it’s important to me that we click. Because of this, I will prioritize getting to know you well before the wedding. Finding out exactly what your vision is and how I can make it come to life. The better we know each other, the better you will trust me with your photos, and the better you can enjoy your day. I firmly believe in the philosophy that it is my job to worry about getting the photos you want so that you can be fully present in the moment. The more present you are, the more genuine and authentic your photos will be. And those are the photos you’ll want… the ones that truly FEEL like you!

how i pose and direct

My goal as your photographer is to make you look natural, as if I’m capturing an authentic moment in time. To do this, I’m not going to tell you to stand there and smile awkwardly. because that won’t evoke genuine emotion. Rather, I’m going to guide and direct you with prompts that usually include movement. Things like “try and kiss her but she’s not going to let you,” or “put your foreheads together while whispering your favorite things about each other.” I like to create moments as if I’m filming you. That being said, you will never have to worry about where to put your hands or how to stand. I will tell you! But i’ll also give you a lot of freedom because I want your photos to be unique to you and feel true to who you are. I want you to be at ease and feel free to have fun, instead of worrying about what you look like :)

 FAQs

  • I am based in Washington State’s stunning Wenatchee Valley, right in the heart of the Pacific Northwest’s Cascade Mountains. As far as traveling goes, I am so down! I love a good adventure! If the location is within driving range, a small travel fee will be added to the session payment, simply to cover gas costs. If you’d like me to fly somewhere that I’m not already planning on going, I’m still down, but will ask you to pay for the ticket and lodging :)

  • When inquiring about a wedding, I will email you my wedding guide and schedule a phone call to chat about your vision and budget for the day. Upon the time of booking, you will be asked to sign a contract and pay an initial retainer fee to hold your spot in my calendar. For weddings, the remaining payment will be due a month before your wedding date, with payment plans available to fit your budget! For any shoot that isn’t a wedding, you will be asked to sign a contract and pay a retainer deposit, with the remaining payment due the day before your shoot. There are several options when it comes to paying. Cash and check can be mailed to my business address. Or, I offer an online platform where you can pay with a card or bank transfer.

  • If you have already booked your session with me and end up needing to reschedule with less than two weeks notice, the initial retainer deposit is non-refundable and you will be charged a second retainer deposit for the new session date. Retainer will not be refunded for a cancelled shoot. Please know this is not me trying to steal your money! The non-refundable deposit exists simply because once you are on my calendar, I will likely have to turn down other potential clients who want that same date. However, that being said, if we have to reschedule the day of the shoot due to horrible weather, that is not a problem and is out of your control, so we will simply put the initial deposit toward a new date.

  • This is one of my favorite questions because there are endless possibilities! Upon booking, you are welcome to request outfit ideas, which I will be more than happy to provide, but here are a few of my best tips for starters. First off, I recommend solid, neutral colors, such as blue, white, green, beige, and even a warmer yellow if that’s your style. For girls, if you enjoy wearing a dress, they can be super fun to add some movement to your photos. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident in your clothing and that it won’t prohibit you from being free to move around and have some fun. Because you never know, we may have a little dance party in the middle of our shoot!

  • No, RAW files will not be given. Editing is a huge part of my art… as in half the end result! It would be like a chef putting out a completely raw steak… nobody wants that. I promise I will give you all the best photos and if for some reason, you think I missed something with the editing, let me know and I’d be happy to take a look for you!

  • Depending on how bad the forecast is, I will probably recommend embracing the weather. Sometimes, the wild weather actually makes for the coolest photos. Nothing more romantic than dancing and making out with your love in the rain ;) That being said, if it truly is really bad and I’m not confident in my ability to deal with it, I will happily reschedule!

  • No, I will not. I’m not about making you appear fake and unrealistic. I believe in capturing the beautiful, candid, messy moments of real life. You are beautiful just as you are and those are the memories you’ll want to remember years down the road. That being said, if you have something temporary, like a pimple or scar, I’m happy to brush that out of your photos.
